Outfitter hit with big lawsuit
Chisholm Trail Outfitters, LLC in Hillsboro has been named in a lawsuit filed in district court by James Navrat of Lehigh, who is seeking to collect on alleged unpaid loans to the business in excess of $100,000.
Navrat claims in the suit that he hasn’t received any payments on a $25,000 promissory note with 5 percent interest that was invested in the business in October 2013.
Navrat also claims that “additional loans” of $80,200 made “at various times” are owed to him. No specifics about the number, amounts, and dates of the alleged additional loans were provided in the court filing.
Chisholm Trail Outfitters was named an “emerging business of the year” by Kansas Small Business Development Center in 2016.
Chisholm Trail operator Craig Dodd declined comment when contacted Tuesday. Dodd has filed to run in the August primary election for the county commission seat held by Kent Becker. Dodd previously ran for the seat but was defeated by former commissioner Lori Lalouette.
