Pauline K. Poe

Pauline K. “Polly” Poe (nee Keazer) entered into eternal peace on Sunday, Oct. 5, 2014, at age 87 at Aberdeen Heights Senior Living, Kirkwood, Missouri.

She was glorious, brilliant, beautiful, gracious, and poised; friend, loving wife and supportive companion for 66 years to Allan Poe. She is survived by her husband Allan; their sons David (Cathy) Poe, Kevin (Marti) Poe and daughter Annette (Tommy) Margosian; four grandchildren, Tom, Eric, and Kurt Poe and Rachel (Michael) Jeter; three great grandchildren, Weston, Dominic and Lucas Jeter; sister Nancy (Phil) Kastor, and brother-in-law Harold (Joleen) Poe. She was preceded in death by her parents Paul and Evelyn Keazer, sister Joyce (Russell) Hett, and beautiful granddaughter Danielle Poe.

Polly was born in Wichita, Kansas, and grew up in Marion, Kansas. It was here she met Allan in 1944. After high school graduation they each went their own way, Polly to Washburn University and Allan to the Navy.

After Allan’s 1946 World War II Navy discharge, the meetings began again. They were married on Sept. 1, 1948. Polly was a junior at Washburn, Allan a junior at Carnegie Mellon University.

After Allan’s 25 years at McDonnell-Douglas they started their world travels together. Following visits to all 50 states, 40-plus countries and 6 continents, Polly’s health began to deteriorate. They then limited their travel to relatives and friends.

Polly was a devoted Cub Scout Den Mother and Girl Scout leader. She also loved golf, having made two holes-in-one. She (and Allan) also took her golf clubs to some of the foreign countries to play.

Polly and I agreed many years ago to never say goodbye, only so long, until we meet again.

Services: Memorial service at Kirkwood United Methodist Church, 201 W. Adams, Kirkwood, Missouri 63122, Saturday, Oct. 18 at 9:30 a.m, with reception to follow at Aberdeen Heights, 555 Couch Ave., Kirkwood, Missouri.
