Coach Rachel Winter returns for her fourth year coaching Peabody-Burns volleyball and brings with her seniors Madyson Goossen and Alexi Davis.

“We have a solid core group of returners, exciting new starters, and a lot of promise,” Winter said.

Building on her core group, Winter has made some changes.

“We put in a new system and it will take time to settle in,” she said. “Also, we are a small team, so staying healthy is a must.”

During the offseason and preseason, athletes have been preparing by lifting weights, doing their weekly skills development, and tons of scrimmaging.

Winter’s goals for the season are “post-season success and placing in tournaments.”

Peabody opened its season against Wichita Classical, losing 2-0. The Warriors’ next game will be on Monday against Yates Center.
