Hillsboro High School’s Abigail Sechrist will be honored as 2018 recipient of the LaVetta Loring Memorial Scholarship at Kansas Basketball Coaches Association all-star games Saturday in Salina.

HHS coach Darrel Knoll will receive plaques honoring 30 years of service and 500 career victories.

Tabor College coach Shawn Reed will be honored for 100 career victories.

Tabor recruit Ashtyn Wiebe from Berean Academy will play in the games.

County student-athletes who will be honored as academic all-state include Kate Basore of Centre and Brodie Rathburn of Hillsboro.

Centre coach Alan Stahlecker is the association’s class representative for 1A Division 1 girls, and Goessel girls coach Ryan Hoopes is class representative for 2A girls.
