Players named to all-league teams
Marion county’s high school basketball players made several all-league teams this week.
Three from Marion were among 10 named this week to the Wheat State League’s all-league team for boys’ basketball.
Goessel juniors Skyler Wuest and Caiden Duerksen and Peabody-Burns junior Noal Reynolds made the team. Goessel senior Nate Zogleman was an honorable mention.
Senior Alyssa Espinoza of Centre was one of 10 named this week to the all-league team for girls’ basketball.
Centre senior Samantha Espinoza and Goessel senior Elizabeth Schmucker were honorable mentions.
Five Hillsboro High students, three boys and three girls were named to the Central Kansas League teams.
Hillsboro High School sophomore Breckyn Ratzlaff and juniors Grayson Razlaff and Matt Potucek made the boys team. Seniors Teegan Werth and Jessica Saunders made the girls. Hillsboro freshman Zaylee Werth was an honorable mention.
Two Marion High students made Heart of America All-League teams. Senior Braedon Mercer made the boys team and junior Jayden May was named to the girls. Senior Seth Lanning was an honorable mention.
