Plumbing woes close Marion Ampride
Staff writer
Marion’s Ampride convenience store will be closed indefinitely until extensive plumbing work is completed.
The store closed Saturday and announced publicly that it would remain closed “for extensive repairs for quite some time.”
The store also asked customers reading its notice whether anyone knew of a company that could tear up concrete and repair plumbing pipes.
Readers suggested two local contractors.
The store’s gas pumps, which operate on credit cards 24 hours a day, still are working.
Marion’s Ampride is owned by Cooperative Grain and Supply of Hillsboro. General manager Jerry Fenske was out of the office Tuesday. Tina Novak, Ampride manager, also was not available for comment.
