Activity reports

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded.

Hillsboro

Jan. 13 — Multiple motorists were warned for frost covered windshields near Hillsboro High School and Hillsboro Elementary. Debris was removed from the roadway.

Jan. 14 — An attempt to use a counterfeit $100 bill was reported at Subway. A false alarm was reported at Casey’s General Store.

Jan. 15 — A resident received assistance with a civil issue regarding loss of money. A motorist received assistance in the 400 block of S. Washington St. A false alarm was reported at Casey’s General Store.

Thursday — A person received assistance with unwanted phone calls.

Friday — Loose dogs were reported in the 100 block of S. Date St. A welfare check was provided in the 300 block of S. Birch St. A false alarm was reported at Dollar General. Officers answered security questions for church members.

Marion

Jan. 13 — A motorist met with officers about equipment stored on a vehicle.

Jan. 14 — A 911 disconnect was reported in the 700 block of S. Freeborn St. A welfare check was provided in the 400 block of S. Cedar St. A motorist was warned for a headlight out. A theft was reported in the 600 block of Sherman St., which remains under investigation. A person wanted under warrant was reported jumping out of a car, but was not found. A 911 disconnect was reported in the 700 block of S. Freeborn St.

Jan. 15 — A noninjury accident was reported in the 100 block of S. Lincoln St.

Thursday — A loose dog was reported at Animal Health Center and the dog owner was contacted for pickup.

Friday — A complaint of slippery sidewalks was reported downtown. A crying baby was reported in the 300 block of S. Roosevelt St., but no baby was found.

Saturday — A loose dog was reported in the 200 block of S. 4th St. and the dog owner was contacted. A motorist was warned for no headlights. A possible structure fire was reported in the 900 block of Melvin St., but it was chimney smoke.

Sunday — A business owner was contacted about an open gate.

Peabody

Thursday — A teenager received a citation for possession of tobacco in the 800 block of Sycamore St.

Saturday — Two teenagers received citations for possession of tobacco in the 100 block of N. Walnut St., and a complaint was reported for them throwing glass bottles within a city right of way in the 100 block of N. Walnut St.
