Activity reports

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded.

Hillsboro

Feb. 17 – A scam attempt was reported. A welfare check was provided in the 400 block of E. B St. A civil standby was provided at Western Heights Cir. Vandalism was reported after someone threw a food sauce on a vehicle in the 300 block of N. Birch St.

Feb. 18 – An abandoned vehicle was reported in the 200 block of S. Lincoln St. A door-to-door sales attempt was reported in the 100 block of Madison St.

Feb. 19 – A possible suicidal person was reported in the 200 block of S. Elm St., and was taken to Hillsboro Community Hospital for assessment. A lost wallet was returned to its owner. A civil dispute was reported for an argument between a property owner and tenant.

Friday – An abandoned vehicle was reported in the 200 block of S. Lincoln St. An animal welfare check was provided in the 300 block of S. Ash St. A parking complaint was reported at Adams and D Sts. Possible gunshots were reported in the 100 block of N. Washington St.

Saturday – An abandoned vehicle was reported in the 400 block of S. Washington St.

Marion

Feb. 18 – A loose dog in the 300 block of S. Lincoln St. was taken to Animal Health Center. A welfare check was provided in the 300 block of S. Lincoln St.

Feb. 19 – A hit-and-run accident was reported in the 300 block of S. 3rd St. A motorist was warned in the 100 block of N. Cedar St. for a head lamp out.

Thursday – A civil standby was provided near 3rd and Forest Sts. A motorist was warned for speeding near 170th and Sunflower Rds.

Friday – A false alarm was reported in the 500 block of S. Freeborn St.

Saturday – A loose dog reported in the 300 block of S. 3rd St. could not be found. Motorists were warned for speeding on US-56 near Cedar St., and on US-56 near Upland Rd.

Sunday – Traffic control was provided near St. Luke Hospital for a helicopter landing.

Feb. 19 – Assisted with a civil matter in the 300 block of N. Sycamore St. An abandoned vehicle was towed in the 700 block of N. Vine St. A runaway teenager was reported in the 700 block N. Plum St., but the teen returned home on his or her own. A motorist received a citation for speeding on US-50.
