Activity reports

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded.

Hillsboro

March 29 – A civil standby was provided in the 200 block of N. Madison St.

March 30 – A motorist received a citation for out-of-date registration.

March 31 – A person reported receiving concerning messages on social media. A driving complaint was reported in the 300 block of N. Madison St. A false alarm was reported at Hillsboro State Bank.

April 1 – Found drugs were turned in to law enforcement.

Thursday – Officers investigated a possible identity theft by someone pretending to be a Social Security Administration employee. A transient person was reported smoking near propane tanks at Dollar General. A welfare check was provided.

Saturday – A person received assistance with an unwanted vehicle parked on his or her property by another person. A transient person received assistance with finding temporary housing.

Marion

March 30 – A motorist was warned for no special vehicle permit in the 700 block of E. Main St. A civil standby was provided in the 200 block of S. Freeborn St. Motorists were reported possibly racing near Lincoln and Nickerson St., but nothing was found.

March 31 – A motorist was warned for no brake lights. A dog owner was contacted for his or her loose dog. Two loose dogs were caught and returned to their owner in the 1200 block of Highland St. Suspicious activity was reported. A motorist was warned for illegal window tint near Lincoln and Nickerson Sts.

April 1 – A dog stuck in a ditch in the 100 block of N. Cedar St. was returned to its home. A loose dog in the 200 block of S. 1st St. was picked up by its owner.

Thursday – Suspicious activity was reported. A loose dog was picked up in the 400 block of E. Main St. and taken to Animal Health Center. A false alarm was reported in the 1100 block of E. Main St.

Friday – Loose dogs were reported in the 400 block of Walnut St., but none were found. A phone call was returned regarding a civil issue.

Saturday – Loose dogs were reported on S. 3rd St., and Marion City Building, but none were found.

Sunday – Possible harassment was reported in the 1000 block of E. Main St.

March 30 – A wallet was found in the 700 block of N. Sycamore St.

Sunday – A verbal dispute was reported in the 500 block of W. 9th St.
