Activity reports
Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded.
Hillsboro
April 27 – A complaint was reported of a vehicle hit by golf balls. A motorist was warned for speeding in the 300 block of Santa Fe St. A suspicious package was reported, which was delivered to its proper recipient after nothing illegal was found. An officer answered questions about special vehicle permits.
April 29 – A motorist was warned for having an obstructed vehicle tag. Suspicious activity and possible theft were reported in the 100 block of N. Ash St., but the victim did not to fill out a report.
Thursday – An officer answered questions about bow and arrow use in city limits. An officer answered questions about court ordered child custody.
Friday – A suspicious vehicle was reported in the 900 block of E. C St. A civil standby was provided at Barkman Honey. An officer answered questions about special vehicle permits. A dog owner received a citation for a loose dog.
Saturday – A motorist was warned for speeding in the 500 block of W. D St. Suspicious activity was reported in the 100 block of N. Main St.
Sunday – An officer answered questions about special vehicle permits.
Marion
April 27 – A motorist was notified of a flat trailer tire in the 100 block of N. Freeborn St. A loose dog was reported in the 700 block of Sherman St. A dog owner was warned for a loose dog in the 400 block of Walnut St. A suspicious phone call was reported.
April 28 – A loose cow reported in town was returned to its owner. A domestic disturbance was reported in the 400 block of S. Coble St., but no action was taken. A possible theft was reported in the 300 block of N. Roosevelt St. A possible threat was reported in the 300 block of Santa Fe St., but no action was taken.
April 29 – A loose dog picked up in the 300 block of S. Cedar St. was taken to Animal Health Center. Officers registered two Special Purpose Vehicles. A disabled vehicle checked on US-56 near Cedar St., was two people switching drivers.
Thursday – A dog owner was warned for a barking dog complaint.
Friday – A person was reported going into a vacant residence, but no one was found. A child custody dispute was reported, but no action was taken. Teenagers were reported riding ATVs in the 200 block of S. Lincoln St., but no one was found.
Saturday – Two parents were warned for their children riding ATVs down alleys the 200 block of S. Lincoln St.
Sunday – A person was reported possibly letting his or her dog off its leash in the 200 block of N. Cedar St. A possible disturbance reported in the 500 block of N. Cedar, was just a phone conversation, and no report was taken. A loose dog was returned to its owner. A teenager was reported riding an ATV in city limits, but the incident was on private property. Possible trespassing was reported in the 500 block of Coble St.

April 28 – An investigation was opened for methamphetamine use.
Saturday – Officers took in a found bicycle.
