Activity reports

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded.

Hillsboro

Aug. 10 — A Hillsboro motorist was arrested after failing to maintain his lane or use a turn signal, and was suspected of driving under the influence.

Aug. 11 — A dog running free in the 100 block of S. Cedar St. was picked up by its owner. Police investigated a report of reckless driving at K-15 and 240th Rds. Dogs running free in the 100 block of N. Jefferson St. could not be found. Motorists were warned for equipment violations in the 200 and 300 blocks of N. Ash St.

Aug. 12 — Officers provided a funeral escort. A dog complaint was made in the 100 block of Jefferson St. A motorist was warned for dropping a bale of hay at Ash and A Sts.

Thursday — A motorist was warned for failing to stop at a stop sign near Western Heights Circle. Dogs running free in the 300 block of N. Washington St. were returned home. Children were warned for trespassing in the 100 block of S. Madison St. A report of domestic disturbance in the 400 block of S. Washington St. proved unfounded. A false fire alarm was reported at TC Wireless.

Friday — A non-injury accident was investigated at Ash St. and Grand Ave. A report is pending. Police answered questions about a possible scam attempt.

Saturday — Report of a motorist speeding on US-56 was made but the motorist could not be found.

Sunday — Motorists were cited for no registration on US-56, and for speeding at Commerce and Jade Rds., and a motorist was warned for an equipment violation at Falcon Rd. and US-56.

Aug. 10 — A person was warned for mowing grass into the roadway in the 300 block of N. Freeborn St. Officers checked a vehicle that was parked on the grass in the 1000 block of E. Main St.

Aug. 11 — Police drove a person home from St. Luke Hospital.

Aug. 12 — A report of a reckless driver in the 100 block of N. Roosevelt St. proved unfounded.

Thursday — A motorist was warned for failing to use a turn signal near 3rd and Water Sts. A motorist received assistance with a disabled vehicle in the 3rd and Water Sts.

Friday — A report of a hit-and-run accident proved unfounded. A person was warned for mowing grass into the roadway in the 100 block of Billings St. A motorist was warned for driving 34 mph in a 20 mph zone. Report of a dog running free was made in the 100 block of N. Roosevelt St.

Saturday — A disabled vehicle near Cedar and Main Sts. was moved by its owner. A suspicious vehicle in the 200 block of Locust St. proved to be a person looking for a loose dog.

Sunday — Report of a reckless driver was made on Burbridge St. but no vehicle was found.

Peabody

Thursday — A 911 disconnect was investigated. A fight was reported between residents at Westview Manor but no action was needed.

Saturday — Runaway residents from Westview were found in Burton, and in a cornfield on Nghthawk Rd. between 60th and 70th Rds. Both were returned to Westview.
