March 8 — Police checked on suspicious activity in Hillsboro Sports Complex.

March 9 — Officers assisted the Department for Children and Families with an investigation.

March 10 — Officers found a juvenile who had taken a battery from a Ring Video Doorbell and he or she agreed to replace it. A trash Dumpster blew into a window of Mama C’s Take and Bake and broke it. Police assisted DCF and the Kansas Department for Aging and Disabilities with investigations. Officers investigated a landlord and tenant dispute in the 100 block of N. Washington St. Police helped a motorist and checked on a hitchhiker on US-56. Officers assisted the sheriff’s department with a vehicle stop.

March 11 — Police investigated a dog complaint on Ash and D Sts. Officers investigated a noise complaint downtown. Officers checked out an abandoned vehicle in the 200 block of N. Main St. Officers investigated a report of a subject being harassed by a guardian, but determined it was a civil matter.

Friday — Officers checked out a report of a vehicle chasing a pedestrian in the downtown area. The suspects were found to be arguing over a cell phone. Police assisted the fire department with an alarm on Park Ave.

Saturday — Officers checked on suspicious activity in the 300 block of N. Washington St. and in the 300 block of W. 3rd St. Police did a welfare check in the 300 block of E. A St.

Sunday — Police checked on a suspicious person in the 200 block of S. Ash St. A dead deer was reported placed on Tabor Campus. Officers investigated a domestic disturbance in the 300 block of N. Ash St. Both parties left before police arrived.

March 8 — Police picked up a dog in the 100 block of S. Coble St. and took it to Animal Health Center. Officers issued a warning to a driver for speeding near Main and Lincoln Sts.

March 9 — Officers met with two owners about nuisance reports for their properties. Police met with several people involved in a civil dispute. Officers contacted the owner of a home with a door open in the 600 block of N. Cedar St.

March 10 — Officers investigated an out-of-control juvenile reported in the 1400 block of E. Lawrence St., but everything was OK. Police issued a warning for speeding on US-56 near Cedar St. A report of a burglary to a vehicle in the 300 block of N. Locust St., turned out to be false.

March 11 — Police investigated the theft of a hammer drill, impact driver, cordless reciprocating saw, and batteries stolen from a business in the 100 block of S. 2nd St. Police met with city crews near Roosevelt and Main Sts. about trees that were causing a traffic hazard. Officers assisted Marion ambulance in the 500 block of S. Cedar St.

Friday — Police picked up a loose dog in the 1000 block of E. Main St. and took it to Animal Health Center. Police checked out a noise complaint in the 1000 block of Hudson St, but found nothing. Officers investigated a possible suicidal person in the 200 block of Tanglewood St., but everything was OK. Police investigated a delayed report of a domestic disturbance. Police cited a driver for speeding 80 mph in a 65 mph zone.

Saturday — Police checked on a vehicle with flashers on near Main and Elm Sts., but everything was OK. Police issued a warning to a driver with a headlight out near Lincoln and Main Sts. Police issued a warning for speeding to a driver on US-56 near Upland Rd. and cited another on US-56 near Cedar St. for driving 105 mph in a 65 mph zone.

Sunday — Officers investigated a scam email and possible scam calls, but took no action. Police checked on a disabled vehicle on US-56 near Cedar St. Police assisted sheriff’s deputies in the 1900 block of Narrow Rd. with a call of a fight in progress.
