ACTIVITY REPORTS

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded. Dates may reflect starting or end dates of officers’ shifts rather than the actual date of occurrence.

HILLSBORO

Nov. 15 — A report of an Internet scam was determined to be unfounded.

Nov. 16 — A door was kicked open at Coachlight Carwash. A non-injury accident on private property was reported. Both incidents remain under investigation. A vehicle reportedly speeding on Indigo Rd. was not located.

Nov. 17 — An accident at US-56 and Orchard St. was investigated.

Thursday — Another report of an Internet scam was determined to be unfounded. No problems were discovered in investigating a report of a disconnected 911 call at Adams and D Sts.

Friday — A driver was ticketed for parking in a space reserved for people with disabilities. A disturbance in the 300 block of S. Wilson St. was found to be a non-violent quarrel. A resident complained about a parking situation.

Saturday — A driver found that lug nuts had been removed from a parked vehicle in the 200 block of E. C St.

Sunday — Routine matters including standing by at a music event on the Tabor College campus and installing new computer equipment at the police station.

MARION

Nov. 15 — A car hit a deer on U.S.-56 near Timber Rd. A dog picked up near 4th and Santa Fe St. was taken to Animal Health Center. A disabled vehicle near the courthouse was checked. A message was delivered to a residence in the 400 block of Elm St. Police also checked on a resident’s welfare in that block.

Nov. 16 — A reported scam was deemed to have involved no criminal activity.

Nov. 17 — After being stopped for an equipment violation, a motorist’s vehicle was searched and the driver was arrested on suspicion of possessing marijuana, methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia. In a separate incident, another driver was warned about an equipment violation. Police also relayed a message to a resident.

Thursday — Two drivers were warned for speeding. A juvenile from the 300 block of S. Roosevelt St. was located and returned home. A panic button at a business in the 1100 block of E. Main St. accidentally was activated.

Friday — No offense report was created after meeting with a resident in the 500 block of N. Coble St. about a possible scam. A dog running free was returned to its owner.

Saturday — A driver was ticketed for driving 80 mph in a 65-mph zone. A group of people riding motorcycles and all-terrain vehicles on Cleveland St. were warned about legal restrictions.

Sunday — A dog running free in the 1200 block of E. Main St. was returned to its owner. Nothing was found when an officer checked on a report of suspicious activity in the 300 block of N. Freeborn St. A driver was warned for having no lights and speeding.
