ACTIVITY REPORTS
Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded.
HILLSBORO
Jan. 3 — Police took a 43-year-old woman into custody and arranged for a mental health evaluation and ultimately a commitment order after the woman allegedly entered a residence without permission and made threats of violence. A non-injury accident at Midway Motors was investigated. Police checked on the welfare of a resident of the 500 block of W. Grand Ave. Debris was removed from a roadway.
Jan. 4 — Police met with a parent about a 16-year-old son who left home without permission. Police also provided security at Hillsboro Community Hospital for the 43-year-old woman, who was ordered committed to a state mental hospital but no beds were available.
Jan. 5 — A complaint about parking on C St. near Tabor College was investigated. Police continued to provide security at HCH.
Thursday — Police took a delayed report of a non-injury accident. A driver was cited for speeding. Police continued to provide security at HCH.
Friday — A possible fraud involving Social Security payments was investigated. Police continued to provide security at HCH.
Saturday —Police continued to provide security at HCH.
Sunday — A driver was cited for speeding at US-56 and Ash St. Police continued to provide security at HCH.
MARION
Jan. 4 — Three drivers were warned about equipment violations.
Jan. 5 — Police determined no crime occurred in what was reported to them as a potential scam. A resident complained that a dog earlier had been running free. Debris was removed from near Cedar and Main Sts. A driver was warned about an equipment violation.
Thursday — Police checked a vehicle that slid off the roadway at US-56/77/K-150 and one that broke down near Main and Walnut Sts.
Friday — No problem was found when checking on a report of suspicious activity in the 1500 block of E. Main St. A resident discussed a civil issue with police.
Saturday — Police helped a motorist locked out of a vehicle and a person who picked up two dogs running free outside the city limits. Three drivers were warned for speeding.
Sunday — Citations were issued for speeding, possessing marijuana, possessing drug paraphernalia, and transporting an open container of alcohol. Police also discussed a possible trespassing case.
