ACTIVITY REPORTS

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded. Dates may reflect starting or ending dates of officers’ shifts rather than actual dates of occurrence.

HILLSBORO

March 27 — A non-injury accident at 3rd and Elm Sts. and a parking complaint in the 200 block of S. Ash St. were investigated. Police responded to a false alarm at Hillsboro Hometown Pharmacy. Drivers were warned about illegal parking on S. Jefferson St. and about driving left of center at US-56 and K-15 northbound.

March 28 — Drivers were warned for an equipment violation in the 200 block of N. Main St. and for speeding at Indigo and 170th Rds. Police responded to a false alarm at Great Plains Federal Credit Union.

March 29 — A grill at Memorial Park’s shelter house was damaged. Debris was removed from the roadway at US-56 and Adams St. A resident reported lost property. Meeting with a resident resolved a noise complaint in the 200 block of N. Washington St.

Thursday — An incident in the 100 block of N. Jefferson St. resulted in an arrest on suspicion of domestic battery. A resident received a ride home from Hillsboro Community Hospital.

Friday — A resident reported that the license plate was missing from her vehicle. A driver was cited for having expired vehicle registration in the 200 block of S. Wilson St. Another driver was warned for speeding at Ash and Juniper Sts.

Saturday — A driver on US-56 between Ash and Adams Sts. was cited for speeding. Drivers were warned for speeding at Adams and D Sts. and for an equipment violation in the 900 block of E. D St. A trucker on US-56 received help from police.

Sunday — A driver was cited for running a stop sign at US-56 east of Industrial Rd. Another false alarm sent police to Hillsboro Hometown Pharmacy. Police stood by during a civil matter in the 100 block of N. Jefferson St.

MARION

March 27 — As reported last week, a non-injury accident in the 100 block of S. Lincoln St. was investigated.

March 29 — A semi-trailer truck reportedly blocking the road near Freeborn and Main Sts. was not located.

Thursday — A driver in the 100 block of N. Thorp St. was warned for failing to stop.

Friday — Marion County Special Education Cooperative reported that a juvenile had run away. What was reported as a break-in reported in the 200 block of S. Freeborn St. was determined to have been a door blown open by wind.

Saturday — Police investigated what a resident thought might have been criminal damage to property in the 300 block of E. Main St. Police dealt with a reportedly suicidal man in the 300 block of S. Roosevelt St.
