ACTIVITY REPORTS

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded. Dates may reflect starting or ending dates of officers’ shifts rather than actual dates of occurrence.

HILLSBORO

Sept. 25 — A fender-bender involving a trash truck in the 300 block of S. Adams St. was investigated. Police helped a motorist locked out of a vehicle. A disconnected 911 call was attributed to a child playing with a phone.

Sept. 26 — A quarrel between roommates at Tabor College in which a pocketknife was wielded was referred for possible prosecution as a domestic violence case. A driver on Orchard Dr. was warned for failing to signal a turn.

Sept. 27 — A resident asked about turning in expired prescription medications. Police helped a person locked out of a residence. Drivers were warned in the 300 block of W. D St. for failing to signal a turn and in the 200 block of E. D St. for making an improper turn.

Thursday — Drivers at Grand Ave. and Ash St. and in the 500 block of S. Main St. were warned about headlight violations and a driver in the 700 block of W. D St. was warned about speeding. Police met with a resident about property that had been found.

Friday — Three worthless checks were received at Ampride. A motorcycle rider was warned about reckless driving on Date St. Water department employees were notified of a leak in the 300 block of N. Lincoln St. Police met with a resident about abandoned property.

Saturday — A man reportedly hit a male companion in the face while the two were looking at houses. A driver was warned for speeding west of town on 190th Rd. A reported fight in the 400 block of W. B St. turned out to be a social gathering where people were yelling.

Sunday — A hitchhiker received a ride to the Chase County line from a sheriff’s deputy. A driver at Ash St. and Orchard Dr. was warned about an equipment violation.

MARION

Sept. 25 — Police investigated a possible theft. A parking complaint in the 100 block of Walnut St. was resolved.

Sept. 27 — A dog bit a person in the 100 block of N. Roosevelt St.

Sept. 28 — A driver was cited for speeding in the 600 block of E. Main St. Police investigated a parking complaint in the 1200 block of E. Main St. Suspicious activity reported in Central Park was not located. Police made contact with the owner of property found in Maize.

Sept. 29 — Police talked to the parent of a child who walked away from school. Trespassing was reported in the 500 block of S. 3rd. St.
