ACTIVITY REPORTS

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded. Dates may reflect starting or ending dates of officers’ shifts rather than actual dates of occurrence.

HILLSBORO

Oct. 9 — A stray cat that bit a resident in the 400 block of N. Ash St. was taken to a veterinarian to be monitored for rabies. After the dogs were secured, the owner of three loose dogs, one of which bit another dog being walked near C and Wilson Sts., was cited for having a vicious dog and allowing dogs to run free. No problems were found in checking on the welfare of a resident on 190th Rd. east of town.

Oct. 10 — An unknown person reportedly rang a resident’s doorbell late at night. Police helped a motorist locked out of a vehicle.

Oct. 11 — A driver in the 100 block of N. Lincoln St. was warned for failing to yield. No problems were found in checking on the welfare of a resident of the 200 block of N. Washington St.

Thursday — Drivers were warned about having no brake lights in the 500 block of S. Ash St. and for speeding at Ash St. and Willow Rd.

Friday — Two women involved in an altercation in the 300 block of N. Lincoln St. did not want to pursue charges. The owner of an abandoned bicycle was located. Warnings were issued about parking at Adams and B Sts.

Sunday — An out-of-control juvenile in the 400 block of S. Main St. was taken into protective custody. No problems were found in checking reports of a suspicious vehicle at the sports complex or of suspicious people in the backyard of a residence in the 300 block of W. B St.

MARION

Oct. 10 — A break-in was reported in the 400 block of W. Santa Fe St. Police talked to a patron who had been told not to return to a business in the 1000 block of E. Main St.

Oct. 11 — A dog bite was reported at an undisclosed location. A driver was arrested in the 100 block of Weldon St. on suspicion of having a suspended license. Police talked to a student in the 600 block of S. Freeborn St. who had walked away from school.
