ACTIVITY REPORTS

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded. Dates may reflect starting or ending dates of officers’ shifts rather than actual dates of occurrence.

HILLSBORO

Oct. 16 — A 39-year-old McPherson woman was arrested after three vehicles were entered without permission at Tabor College. A driver was warned about improper passing in the 100 block of N. Ash St. Firefighters were alerted to an odor of natural gas in Hillsboro Heights.

Oct. 17 — Police helped a juvenile suffering from mental health issues. No problems were found in checking on a disconnected 911 call from the 500 block of S. Adams St.

Oct. 18 — A door-to-door salesperson was told he needed a city permit. Drivers were warned for ignoring a “do not enter” sign at A and Wilson Sts. and for not using headlights in the 400 block of S. Washington St. Police talked to kids playing in the street in the 100 block of N. Jefferson St.

Thursday — Drivers were warned for making at J-turn in the 100 block of W. Grand Ave. and for having expired registration in the 100 block of N. Main St. Police gave someone a ride from downtown to a motel. A juvenile who didn’t come home after school was found at a friend’s house.

Friday — Battery charges are pending after police investigated a disturbance earlier in the day in the 700 block of S. Washington St.

Saturday —Charges are pending after police observed marijuana and drug paraphernalia while checking on the welfare of a resident in the 500 block of W. Grand Ave. Multiple dogs were caught and returned to their homes. Multiple parking violations near Hillsboro High School were investigated.A non-injury accident at Ash and D Sts. was investigated.

Sunday — Property found in the 100 block of S. Cedar St. was returned to its owner.

MARION

Oct. 16— A dog was reported to be running free in the 200 block of N. Cedar St.

Oct. 17— A non-injury accident in the 100 block of S. Lincoln St. was investigated. Two dogs running free in the 400 block of N. Lincoln St. were captured.

Oct. 18 — Door-to-door salespeople were told they needed licenses. A resident had questions about motorized bicycles.

Thursday — Police discussed a civil issue involving neighbors.Suspicious activity was reported in the 400 block of Walnut St.

Friday — A resident complained about stray cats getting into trash.

Sunday— A driver was warned for having a defective taillight at 3rd and Main Sts.
