ACTIVITY REPORTS

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded. Dates may reflect starting or ending dates of officers’ shifts rather than actual dates of occurrence.

HILLSBORO

Dec. 4 — A possible email scam was reported. A business owner talked to police about barring someone from an establishment. Police helped sheriff’s deputies subdue an inmate being transported by Miami County.

Dec. 5 — Two gallons of gasoline were provided to a stranded driver at K-15 and 340th Rd. Police met at Tabor College about barring a student from portions of campus. They also checked on the welfare of a juvenile in the 200 block of S. Lincoln St.

Dec. 6 — A driver at Briarwood Ln. and Parkway Ct. was warned about having a defective license plate light.

Thursday — A driver at US-56 and Goldenrod Rd. was warned for improperly displaying a license plate. A dog reported to be running free on D St. was not located.

Friday — A driver was warned for speeding in the 100 block of N. Ash St.

Saturday — An abandoned bicycle was found at a residence. Damage to a stop sign at Jade and 190th Rds. was discovered. No problems were found in checking on a disconnected 911 call from the 400 block of N. Ash St.

Sunday — A driver was cited for exhibition of speed after video from downtown security cameras was viewed to identify a vehicle involved in “burnouts” on Main St. Suspicious activity involving juveniles behind Wendy’s was investigated. Police helped with release of personal property in the 400 block of N. Adams St.

MARION

Dec. 4 — Police served an arrest warrant at Bown-Corby Apartments. They found no problems when checking on the welfare of a resident of the 400 block of S. 3rd St.

Dec. 5 — A water leak was discovered at Roosevelt and Denver Sts. A driver was warned for speeding at 4th and Main Sts.

Dec. 6 — A driver was warned for making a J-turn at 3rd and Main Sts. Police helped a locked-out driver at US-56 and Cedar St. and helped sheriff’s deputies with an inmate at the county jail.

Thursday — No problems were found in checking on the welfare of a resident of the 400 block of S. 3rd St. Police discussed a theft with a resident.

Friday — Three drivers at US-56 and Industrial St. were warned about having defective equipment. A drug-sniffing police dog was deployed during one of the stops. Police also spoke to a resident about a dog complaint.

Saturday — A dog running free in the 500 block of Walnut St. was taken to a veterinary clinic. A driver was warned for having defective equipment near US-56 and Industrial St.

Sunday — Police helped Chase County deputies arrest a person on Fairway Dr. suspected of aggravated battery. Two drivers were warned for speeding near US-56 and Cedar St. Police met with a resident about an unspecified complaint.
