ACTIVITY REPORTS

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded. Dates may reflect starting or ending dates of officers’ shifts rather than actual dates of occurrence.

HILLSBORO

New Year’s Day — A dog lost in the 100 block of S. Lincoln St. was found west of town.

Jan. 2 — Two dogs loose near Hillsboro Community Hospital were picked up by their owner. A fender-bender at Main St. and Grand Ave. was investigated.

Jan. 3 — A bank alarm accidentally was activated in the 200 block of N. Main St. A driver in the 100 block of S. Main St. was stopped for making a J-turn. No problems were found in checking on the welfare of a resident of the 100 block of N. Jefferson St.

Thursday — The owner of a dog loose in the 500 block of E. Grand Ave. was located.

Friday — A bank alarm in the 200 block of N. Main St. was found to have been accidentally activated by an employee. Police attempted to help hospital personnel with two possible mental patients, but they left before an officer arrived. No problems were found in checking on the welfare of a resident of the 100 block of S. Madison St. nor was any screaming found after it was reported in the 200 block of S. Ash St.

Saturday — No problems were found in checking on the welfare of a resident of the 100 block of N. Jefferson St.

Sunday — A person in the 400 block of N. Ash St. denied being loud and banging on a wall, as a neighbor had reported.

MARION

New Year’s Day — A fender-bender in the 200 block of N. Roosevelt St. was investigated. A driver at US-56 and Cedar St. was warned for speeding.

Jan. 2 — Fire in a truck’s engine compartment near Main and Elm Sts. was investigated. No problems were found in checking on reports of a disturbance in the 1500 block of E. Main St. and of a possibly suicidal person in the 400 block of Locust St. A driver at US-56 and Cedar St. was warned about an equipment violation.

Jan. 3 — No problems were found after checking on the welfare of a resident of the 1500 block of E. Main St. and investigating a report of a suspicious person at St. Luke Hospital.

Thursday — A dog was reported to be loose near Nickerson and Roosevelt Sts. Police conferred with the Sedgwick County sheriff’s office about an active investigation.

Friday — Items reported to have been shoplifted from Family Dollar / Dollar Tree were returned. A citizen had questions about an order of protection. No problems were noted in checking on a report of an intruder in the 100 block of N. Freeborn St.

Saturday — A driver at US-56 and Cedar St. was warned about an equipment violation.

Sunday — A driver at Main and Lincoln Sts. was warned about an equipment violation.
