ACTIVITY REPORTS

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded. Dates may reflect starting or ending dates of officers’ shifts rather than actual dates of occurrence.

HILLSBORO

Jan. 15 — Police helped a resident accidentally locked out of a home. No problems were found when checking on a disconnected 911 call from the 100 block of N. Washington St.

Jan. 16 — A fender-bender in the 300 block of S. Date St. was investigated.

Jan. 17 — A driver was ticketed for running a stop sign in the 100 block of N. Ash St. A fender-bender at Main and F Sts. was investigated. Police checking on the welfare of a Tabor College student learned that the student’s phone wasn’t working.

Thursday — Police stood by during the firing of an employee at Barkman Honey and helped push a vehicle out of snow at 3rd and Ash Sts.

Friday — No crime was discovered in investigating a report of a broken window in the 100 block of W. Grand Ave. A fender-bender at D and Adams Sts. was investigated. Police helped a driver remove a vehicle from a snowdrift at Hickory and Pine Sts.

Saturday — Police monitored a water leak in the 200 block of E. Main St.

Sunday — Police searched a shop after noticing and securing an open door. They also helped a driver stuck on ice at 170th and Jade Rds. and notified city crews about street conditions.

MARION

Jan. 15 — No problems were uncovered in investigating what had been a trespassing complaint in the 200 block of N. 4th St.

Jan. 16 — Police helped multiple drivers with broken down or stuck vehicles. No problems were found in checking on the welfare of a resident of the 600 block of S. Freeborn St.

Jan. 17 — Similarly, no problems were found in checking on the welfare of a resident of the 300 block of E. Santa Fe St.

Thursday — Police helped firefighters deal with a gasoline spill in the Ampride parking lot.

Friday — Drivers at US-56 and Cedar St. and US-56 and Industrial St. were warned about equipment violations.

Saturday — Two drivers at US-56 and Cedar St. and one at US-56 and Industrial St. were warned for speeding.

Sunday — A dog was reported loose in the 400 block of S. Freeborn St. Police investigated a disturbance in the 200 block of N. Roosevelt St.
