ACTIVITY REPORTS

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded. Dates may reflect starting or ending dates of officers’ shifts rather than actual dates of occurrence.

HILLSBORO

March 25 — Traffic on Main St. was monitored for J-turns. A vehicle alarm malfunctioned at Adams and B Sts.

March 26 — No problems were found in checking on a disconnected 911 call from the 500 block of S. Main St. Police met with a parent about a civil issue and with a resident about transfer of property.

March 27 — A non-injury accident in the 500 block of E. Grand Ave. was investigated. Police helped Hillsboro High School officials with a student issue. A wallet was reported lost.

Thursday — A child who left home upset was located and returned. A driver in the 900 block of S. Ash St. was ticketed for driving without a license, and a passenger was ticketed for allowing an unlicensed driver. Another driver was warned for an equipment violation in the 100 block of N. Washington St. A deer carcass was removed from US-56 at Kanza Rd.

Friday — A dog reported to be loose in the 200 block of E. B St. was not located. Police determined that a report of possible forced entry to a garage was unfounded. City crews were notified of a water leak at Adams and A Sts.

Saturday — A noise complaint in the 300 block of N. Lincoln St. was investigated. Police helped a motorist with a credit card issue at Sinclair Fuel Depot. Drivers were warned for speeding in the 900 block of E. D St. and for an equipment violation on US-56.

Sunday — Police answered residents’ questions about a civil matter and about a trespassing issue, which was referred to the sheriff’s department for further investigation.

MARION

March 26 — St. Luke Hospital reported treating a dog bite. Two drivers at US-56 and Cedar St., two at US-56 and Industrial St., and one at Cedar and Kellison Sts. were warned for speeding.

March 27 — Although no offense report was released, Wayne L. Thompson, 66, Marion, was arrested on suspicion of criminal trespassing and disorderly conduct after police and a sheriff’s deputy were called to Dollar General and asked to remove an unwelcome person yelling at customers and clerks. Police investigated a non-injury accident in the 1400 block of E. Denver St. No problems were found in checking on a report of a suspicious person in the 100 block of N. Roosevelt St.

Thursday — Drivers were warned for an equipment violation at US-56 and Industrial St. and for speeding at US-56 and Cedar St. and US-56 and Industrial St.

Friday — Police decided no crime had occurred after investigating a quarrel in the 300 block of N. Lincoln St. A report of a possible intruder in the 100 block of S. Cedar St. was determined to be unfounded. A driver was ticketed for a registration violation at US-56 and Cedar St. Two drivers were warned for speeding at the same location. Drivers also were warned for equipment violations at 1st and Main Sts., Main and Roosevelt Sts., and Main and 5th Sts. and for speeding at US-56 and Industrial St.

Sunday — One driver was warned, and one was ticketed for speeding at US-56 and Cedar St.
