Hillsboro police

June 1: Officers responded a report of people operating a golf cart in the roadway and took a dog complaint.

June 2: Police took a parking complaint, a report of a suspicious person near the swimming pool, and checked suspicious activity. Police also took a trespass complaint and a report of an abandoned vehicle in the sports complex.

June 3: Officers took a report of an attempted scam and addressed a report of a vicious dog.

June 4: Police recovered lost property and returned it to the owner. Officers also addressed a city code violation, took a report of debris left on the ground, and investigated a report of a suspicious person.

Thursday: Officers conducted traffic control because of flooded streets, took a trespass complaint, performed a welfare check, and took a report of unsupervised children. Police also assisted with a suicidal person.

Friday: Police responded to a report of an abandoned vehicle, took trespass complaint, and removed an unwanted individual from the 300 block of N. Cedar St. Officers noted a pit bull on the premises and ordered it removed from town. Police also took a harassment complaint.

Saturday: Officers took a report of an out-of-control juvenile, took a harassment complaint, and responded to dog complaint in which a person reported that a neighbor was trying to coax a dog onto his property. Police took a report of two stray cats on the 300 block of N. Lincoln St., and took two complaints in the same block that someone was shooting at their cats with a pellet gun. Officers also took a report of a domestic disturbance.

Marion police

May 27: Police took a call of a female sleeping in a vehicle on Main St.

May 28: During a traffic stop police arrested Anthony Buchanan of Peabody on suspicion of driving while suspended. Police responded to an injured deer behind a home. It was found to be a newborn deer and was removed and set free. Police conducted a traffic stop for no car tag and found marijuana and a marijuana pipe. Terri Benson of Independence, Missouri, and Christopher Spurgeon of Shawnee were arrested on suspicion of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Officers responded to a domestic fight between two women where one woman was drunk. Nancy Garcia of Marion was arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct.

May 29: Police took a report of check forgery and reckless driving.

May 30: Officers advised three small kids to not swim in the fountain in the park.

May 31: Officers responded to an alarm going off at Bearly Makin’ It Antiques.

June 1: Police assisted fire department with a vehicle fire.

June 2: Police took a report of a hit and run. During a traffic stop for speeding Brenda Medlin of Marion was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

June 3: Officers took reports of assault, disorderly conduct, and suspicious activity. During a traffic stop, Mitchell Neuwirth of Marion was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

June 4: Police took a report of an accident.

Thursday: Officers talked to a resident in concern to a harassment complaint where the resident was making gestures toward workers in the park. Police took complaints of a vehicle parked in the alley, a noisy neighbor, and noise complaint about demolition derby cars in the Jex Addition. Police took a report of a speeding driver.

Friday: Police sent several people home after they were found walking drunk in the streets and responded to a loud party call at the motel.

Saturday: Police took reports of a non-injury accident and stolen vehicle. The vehicle was found and the driver was arrested. Officers talked to an individual about digging in dumpsters at 1:30 a.m.

PEABODY POLICE

June 5: Officers assisted with a civil matter.

Saturday: Police took a report of suspicious activity at 608 E. 2nd St.

Sunday: Police took a report of burglary and theft at a residence. Kelley Piatt, Wichita, was arrested on suspicion of speeding, driving while suspended, and no proof of insurance.
