Hillsboro police

Nov. 5: Police took reports of an out of control juvenile and a suspicious person. Officers also addressed two reports of a protection from abuse violation in which Wayne Kennel, a 56-year-old Hillsboro man, was arrested and transported to Marion County Jail.

Nov. 6: An officer performed a vehicle search with a police dog. Police also addressed a dog complaint, a child custody dispute, and served civil process for city hall.

Nov. 7: Officers checked on suspicious activity and responded to a possible child welfare concern.

Nov. 8: Officers returned lost property.

Nov. 9: Police took reports of theft, a non-injury accident, and a disturbance.

Oct. 24: Officers took two burglary calls, conducted a red ribbon demonstration at Marion Elementary School, and captured a dog running loose and issued the owner a citation.

Oct. 25: Officers checked out a suspicious vehicle parked near the county shop and found everything to be OK. Officers arrested Lyle Ledford, 44, of Marion on charges of driving with a suspended license, no proof of insurance, and possession of meth and drug paraphernalia.

Oct. 26: Officers took a report of a lost dog, assisted Marion County Sherriff with an injury accident.

Oct. 27: Officers located a missing dog and contacted the owner.

Oct. 28: Police assisted Marion County Sherriff with the search of a vehicle, met with a concerned citizen about a possible fake driver’s license, and took a report of suspicious activity at a residence.

Oct. 29: Officers checked on suspicious vehicles and attended a town hall meeting.

Oct. 30: Officers responded to a burglary and served an arrest warrant for Lena Fisher, 30, of Peabody.

Oct. 31: Officers served an arrest warrant to Jason Anderson, 39, of Marion and attended the Marion Elementary Halloween parade and Marion football game. Police removed debris from a roadway.

Nov. 1: Police responded to a report of suspicious activity and a suspicious vehicle. Served a warrant and took a report of a possible child in need of care case at Marion Elementary School. Officers took a report of a wanted person possibly traveling to Marion, responded to OASIS for a report of an out of control child, and made two arrests, Kendall Hein, 39, Marion, on a warrant, and Dustin Shiplet, 30, Marion on a charge of driving with an expired license.

Nov. 2: Police took a report of a possible break in, conducted traffic control for the Toy Run, took a report of a child in need of care case and a suspicious vehicle.

Nov. 4: Police served three municipal court papers and an arrest warrant to David Bean, 43, of Marion and spoke to residents of Hilltop Manor about scams against the elderly.

Nov. 5: Officers received a call in reference to a possible juvenile and parent getting into an argument that ended in a possible physical altercation.

Nov. 6: Officers assisted a resident with catching their dog.

Nov. 7: Officers responded to a deer vs. vehicle accident by Straub International and issued a salvage tag to the driver.
