Hillsboro police

Feb. 9: Officers took a report of a criminal threat in Hillsboro Heights.

Feb. 10: Police checked on suspicious activity at the water plant and took a traffic complaint.

Feb. 11: Officers took a report of an out-of-control juvenile.

Feb. 12: Police took two parking complaints and a traffic complaint.

Thursday: An officer instructed D.A.R.E. class at the elementary school.

Friday: Police responded to a curfew violation in Memorial Park and checked on suspicious activity at Hillsboro Heights.

Saturday: Officers took dog and traffic complaints, and responded to a report of a reckless driver.

Marion police

Jan. 31: Police took a report of a truant juvenile.

Feb. 1: Officers assisted Marion ambulance with a call.

Feb. 3: Chief Tyler Mermis attended Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of American training in Washington, D.C., through Feb. 6.

Feb. 4: Officers responded to three false bank alarms after power went down for a short time in the city due to snow. Officers responded to a non-injury accident in which a car struck a gas meter.

Feb. 5: Officers responded to a false alarm at Casey’s General Store. Police took a call of an out-of-control child and assisted Chase County Sheriff’s Department with a gunshot wound victim that was a possible suicide in Chase County.

Feb. 6: Officers assisted Peabody police with juvenile intake. Police took a report of a possible missing person who was later found to reside in Missouri and a report of a trespassing that turned into a physical altercation.

Feb. 8: Police provided domestic disturbance and civil standby.

Feb. 10: Officers assisted a broken down motorist and Marion ambulance with a resident that had fallen.

Feb. 11: Officers assisted Marion ambulance with a fall victim and provided traffic control for a stuck Pepsi truck. Police took a report of a nuisance opossum that was removed from the property. Police conducted a traffic stop where the driver had his music playing too loudly, canine officer Legion was deployed; the driver, Mark VanHorn of Peabody was arrested on suspicion of possession marijuana and other drug paraphernalia.

Feb. 12: Officers responded to a private property accident at Carlsons’ Grocery and took a theft report. Police took a report of an elderly man with dementia who was missing from his residence; the man was found safe and was returned to his home. Police took a reports of a disruptive child and a domestic disturbance.

PEABODY POLICE

Feb. 10: Police arrested Johney Strotkamp, Peabody, on a felony Marion County warrant for an offender registration violation.

Feb. 12: Police opened a case for the city of Peabody of a cited inoperable vehicle being relocated, which violates a second city ordinance.

Friday: Sara Sears, Peabody, was arrested and charged with driving while suspended. Officers investigated a hit and run accident involving personal property at Peabody Market. Jarred Weems, Peabody, was arrested on a City of Peabody municipal court warrant for failure to appear.

Sunday: Police took an information report at 803 Prairie Lawn Rd.
