Hillsboro

July 6: Officers responded to a non-injury accident, took a report of a problematic juvenile, and attempted to locate a suicidal subject.

July 7: Police recovered several abandoned scooters near the post office and took reports of fireworks being discharged and a reckless driver on US 56. Upon investigating a report of a stolen bicycle, officers were able to recover it and identify a subject. Police also took a report of a woman walking around and displaying bizarre behavior. The women eluded the investigating officer but was later located. At that time, the officer determined she needed medical attention and EMS was summoned. The woman then assaulted the officer and damaged a police vehicle.

July 8: Police responded to a landlord and tenant dispute, took a dog complaint, and assisted with a protection from abuse order.

July 9: Officers checked several residences to ensure compliance with parking on the grass ordinance. Police responded to a physical altercation between two juvenile boys and investigated a report of a subject who had received sexual-related text messages.

Thursday: Police returned a stolen boat to its Hillsboro owner after the boat was discovered near the Marion Reservoir by park rangers. Officers investigated a report of suspicious activity in which a juvenile was trying to sell used equipment that may have been stolen.

Friday: Officers took a dog complaint and responded to a report of a possible suicidal person.

Saturday: Police took a report of children playing with a firearm. Officers took a report a woman who was injured while trying to restrain her dog from being attacked by other dogs.

PEABODY

July 9: Jason Brooks was arrested on a Peabody Municipal Court warrant and charged with failure to appear. Police documented a reported telephone scam. A case was filed for two counts of animal cruelty, two counts of no shots, two counts of no tags, and charges are pending.

Thursday: Officers took a complaint of the alleged assault of a resident at Peabody Care Center. They are assisting with the investigation.

Friday: Johnny Strotkamp was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended driver’s license and failure to stop at a stop sign.

Sunday: Jermaine Stockman of Peabody was arrested and charged with failure to appear on a Peabody Municipal Court warrant and domestic battery on City of Newton warrant.
