Police provided these reports this week of their activities. Routine training, patrols, office work and other assistance to other agencies are excluded.
Hillsboro
Aug. 14 — Police assisted a motorist and enforced traffic laws. An unauthorized vehicle on the street, someone operating a scooter without eye protection or a helmet, and two vehicle equipment violations were investigated.
Aug. 15 — Officers addressed curfew violations, investigated a business’ open door, dealt with a stray cat, and investigated a possible phone scam.
Aug. 16 — Officers provided civil standby service during an employment termination. Police contacted a citizen in regards to a vehicle-purchase civil issue, made contact with juveniles in reference to harassment, provided medical assistance for a fall victim, attempted to locate a dog, investigated a possible drug overdose, and provided active shooter training to USD 410 staff.
Thursday — A fire in 800 block of West Grand Ave and an alarm at TCT Solutions were investigated. A warrant arrest was made in the 300 block of S. Birch St.
Friday — Officers investigated a phone scam and took report of missing medications.
Saturday — Officers removed debris from a roadway and investigated a complaint regarding a dog in vehicle.
Sunday — Officers assisted a motorist and investigated a park curfew violation.

Aug. 14 — Police assisted with an out-of-control child.
Friday — Civil standby at two houses in the 800 block of N. Olive St. was provided. Richard Newman was arrested on suspicion of driving without a license.
