ACTIVITY REPORTS

City police departments provided these reports this week of their recent activities. Routine activities and assistance provided to other agencies are excluded.

HILLSBORO

May 20 — Police took reports of a missing person in the 600 block of S. Main St. and a suspicious person in the 200 block of S. Madison St. A resident reported that his dog may have been bitten by an opossum. A reported traffic accident in the city park could not be located.

May 21 — A vehicle reported stolen in the 500 block of S. Main St. was located a couple of blocks away. Two children visiting from out of town became separated from their parent on Main St.

May 22 — Reports of suspicious activity in the 400 block of N. Ash St., of harassment in the 100 block of N. Washington, and of unauthorized use of a debit card were investigated. Wichita police reported recovering a vehicle stolen from Hillsboro three years ago. A missing person was located through his cell phone — in jail. Officers helped remove a bull from the city golf course.

May 23 — A vehicle was reported stolen from Tabor College and a cell phone was reported stolen in the 400 block of N. Ash St. Three people were arrested on drug charges and outstanding warrants after a traffic stop. A non-injury accident in the 300 block of N. Ash St. and a harassment complaint in the 200 block of E. Grand St. were investigated.

Thursday — Police took a delayed report of damage to a vehicle, helped a motorist on Willow Rd., and arrested a person on an outstanding warrant.

Friday — Curfew citations were issued to two juveniles. A motorist drove off without paying for gasoline in the 300 block of N. Main St. An attempted forced entry in the 100 block of N. Jefferson St., a traffic complaint in the 300 block of S. Adams St., and complaints about dogs in the 100 block of S. Birch St. and the 100 block of S. Washington St. were investigated.

Saturday — Two missing persons were located and a report of suspicious activity in the 400 block of S. Cedar St. was investigated.

May 7 — Officers took a report of items left in a yard over the weekend.

May 8 — Officers took a statement about a stop sign left in a yard.

May 9 — Officers checked on the status of a dog that earlier bit a person and called the victim to say the dog did not have rabies. They also took a report of a park bench that was damaged the previous night; investigated a bicycle and pickup accident at Cedar and Main Sts.; and took a report of criminal damage to property.

May 10 — Officers issued a warning for obstruction of a vehicle window and windshield and took a report of possible violation of a protection from abuse order.

May 12 — Traffic stops included for failure to stop in the 100 block of N. Freeborn St., driving while suspended in the 600 block of N. Cedar St., and having a burned-out headlamp in the 500 block of E. Main St.

May 13 — Officers investigated a disturbance in the 800 block of E. Main St. and arrested a suspect on suspicion of battery.

May 14 — A motorist was warned for having an obstructed license plate. Two others were warned for speeding. A possible probation violation was investigated in the 400 block of S. Coble St. A suspicious person walking out from behind a business was taken home to Hillsboro.

May 15 — A motorist was warned for texting and driving. Another traffic stop was made on US-56 and Upland Rd. A suicidal runaway juvenile from the 500 block of N. Coble, was found in a park and taken to St. Luke Hospital.

May 17 — A report of a skunk was investigated. A juvenile missing from the 200 block of N. 2nd St. was found in Hillsboro. A motorist was warned for failing to yield in an alley in the 100 block of S. Lincoln St.

May 18 — A reports of juveniles jumping off a bridge on Sunflower Rd. was investigated. Door-to-door salesmen were informed of city ordinance.

May 20 — Motorists were warned for driving an ATV on Main St. and parking in a no parking zone on S. Roosevelt St. Travis Hamm, 40, and Krystle Strong, 31, were arrested and four juveniles taken into protective custody after a domestic disturbance in the 1100 block of Weldon. Suspicious activity in the 200 block of Miller St. was investigated.
