Sept. 25 — A verbal warning for speeding was given.

Sept. 26 — Criminal trespass and damage to property were reported at Marion High School.

Sept. 27 — Officers discovered an open rear door at Central National Bank, searched, and secured the building.

Sept. 29 — Police responded to Ampride for an alarm, found the employee didn’t know the code and contacted the manager to shut off the alarm. A back door was discovered open at Dollar General and the key holder was contacted to lock the door after officers searched the building.

Oct. 1 — A dog at large was picked up and taken to Animal Hearth Center.

Oct. 2 — Officers took a report of a vehicle that struck power lines in the 1100 block of East Main St., a dog bite in the 200 block of Tanglewood, and a raccoon was caught in the 400 block of S. Coble St. and relocated.

Oct. 3 — Verbal warnings were given for expired tag and brake light out; a suspicious person walking on Main St. at 3 a.m. was checked.

Oct. 4 — Verbal warnings for speeding, no brake light, and headlight out were given in four traffic stops; a report was taken for a possible theft and criminal damage to property.

Oct. 5 — Officers assisted with an out-of-control juvenile in the 1500 block of Lawrence St., gave a verbal warning for no brake light, and told juveniles at Santa Fe and 5th St. to turn down music.

Oct. 6 — A gas skip in the 1200 block of E. Main St. was investigated, the driver was located and returned to pay.

Oct. 7 — Tickets were written for speeding at US-56 and Quail Creek Rd. and on US-56.

Oct. 9 — A citation was given for speeding in the 300 block of W. Main St.

Oct. 10 — Officers did a welfare check in the 200 block of Miller St.

Thursday — A dog at large in the 200 block of block of N. Lincoln was picked up and taken to Animal Health Center after attempts to contact the owner were unsuccessful; a report of possible harassment was taken.

Friday — An out-of-control juvenile was reported in the 1500 block of E. Lawrence; verbal warnings were given for a registration violation in the 200 block of S. 3rd St. and a head light out on US-56; a dog at large was caught and put back on leash in the owner’s yard; officers assisted Hillsboro police with a foot chase.

Saturday — Police assisted the sheriff’s office with an out-of-control inmate; a dog at large near Locust and Hudson Sts. was returned to its owner who was actively looking for it; another dog at large in the 100 block of N. Coble was located and its owners advised to retrieve it.

Sunday — Officers stopped a vehicle in the 100 block of Eisenhower for no registration visible, and could smell the odor of marijuana. The vehicle was searched and unopened alcoholic beverages were found. The driver did not have a valid driver’s license. Citations were issued for minors in possession of alcohol, no driver’s license, and registration violations.
