Oct. 14 — Suspicious activity was reported in the 700 block of S. Ash St.

Oct. 15 — Suspicious activity was reported on Main St.

Oct. 16 — A hit-and-run accident was reported in Hillsboro Heights, and a child custody dispute was reported.

Oct. 17 — Warnings were issued to peddlers without permits.

Thursday — A commercial alarm in the industrial park was investigated, officers met with school district to discuss traffic problems on the east side of town, and a suspicious vehicle in the 300 block of N. Ash St. was reported.

Saturday — A suspicious person was reported in the 500 block of E. D St., a noise complaint was reported in the 300 block of N. Ash St., and a dog complaint was reported at Lincoln and 3rd Sts.

Marion

Oct. 15 — The owner of two barking dogs was contacted to take the dogs inside.

Oct. 16 — A driver in the 1400 block of Denver St. was given a verbal warning for having windows obstructed by frost; officers responded to a dispute over ownership of an animal in the 200 block of N. Roosevelt St.

Oct. 17 — A suspicious vehicle in the area of Lawrence and Freeborn Sts. was reported but no vehicle was located. A dog at large was reported. A complaint was made about door-to-door salespeople who were located and advised they needed permits. Verbal warnings were given for improper backing near 2nd and Main Sts., headlamp out near 3rd and Main Sts., and white light to the rear and a citation for no proof of liability insurance near 3rd and Main Sts.

Friday — A non-injury accident at the intersection of Nickerson and Coble Sts. was reported. Officers investigated a domestic battery and arrested Cheyeene Rosenbaum, 19, Marion, on suspicion of domestic battery and consumption of alcohol by a minor.

Saturday — Officers investigated a disturbance at 301 W. Main St. and arrested Shai Farrow, 19, on suspicion of domestic battery. A citation for speeding was issued at US-56 and Cedar St., and a verbal warning was given for speeding in the 1000 block of Hudson.

Sunday — Citations were written for speeding on US-56 and US-56 near Remington Rd. Officers were unable to catch a dog at large in the 100 block of Billings St.

Oct. 10 — Officers responded to a suicidal subject.

Oct. 11 — A complaint was taken of harassment by phone, stalking and violation of protection order

Oct. 12 — A complaint of trespassing was taken.

Oct. 13 — A complaint was taken of minor consuming alcohol and criminal damage to property.

Oct. 14 — Dakota Chard was arrested on a Newton police department warrant.

Oct. 17 — Officers investigated a juvenile child in need of care.

Oct. 18 — Officers responded to a suicidal subject.

Oct. 19 — Domestic battery, aggravated sex battery, theft, stalking, and aggravated burglary were investigated.

Oct. 21 — A verbal domestic disturbance was reported but no arrests were made.
