Activity reports

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded.

Hillsboro

Jan. 7 — A dog roaming free on Main St. was returned to its owner.

Jan. 9 — A report of a dog roaming free in the 500 block of E. Grand Ave. proved unfounded.

Jan. 11 — A noninjury accident on Industrial Rd. near US-56 occurred on private property but no report was made.

Jan. 12 — Suspicious activity downtown was reported, but proved unfounded.

Marion

Jan. 7 — A pair of dogs roaming free were returned to their owners. A driver whose combine was tangled in cable lines in the 1000 block of Batt St. received assistance.

Jan. 8 — A motorist was warned for parking where prohibited.

Jan. 9 — A motorist was warned for a brake light out. A call for a debris pile on commercial property was received, but no report was taken. A vehicle reportedly parked in the roadway proved unfounded. A child reported not having returned from school was found playing in a neighbor’s yard. A commercial alarm went off in the 100 block of E. Main St., but there was no problem.

Jan. 10 — A parking complaint was reported in the 600 block of S. Freeborn St. A motorist was warned for speeding in the 400 block of W. Main St.

Jan. 11 — A call was received regarding threats made in the 800 block of E. Main St. but no report was taken. A disabled vehicle near Main St. and Eisenhower Rd. was pushed off the road.

Jan. 12 — A report of a reckless driver eastbound on US-56 from Hillsboro proved unfounded. Possible harassment was reported in the 600 block of S. Roosevelt St. but no report was made. A citizen made a report of suspicious activity, but no action was taken.

Jan. 13 — A report of suspicious activity in the 400 block of E. Santa Fe St. proved unfounded.

Peabody

Jan. 9 — A sexual assault case was opened with two preteen children as victims. No arrest has been made.

Jan. 10 — Franklin M. Davis, 49, Peabody, was arrested by Peabody police for allegedly violating probation.
