Activity Reports
Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded.
Hillsboro
Jan. 14 — An alarm in the 200 block of N. Ash St. proved unfounded. A motorist was warned for failing to remove snow from his/her car hood.
Jan. 15 — Suspicious activity reported in the 500 block of N. Ash St. proved unfounded. Marijuana and drug paraphernalia found by a citizen were turned in to the police and an investigation is underway.
Jan. 17 — Two drivers were warned for driving the wrong way down a controlled access road during school hours. A report of a dog roaming free proved unfounded.
Jan. 18 — A citizen reported a threatening anonymous voicemail left on his/her phone.
Jan. 19 — A motorist received citations near Ash and D Sts. for running a stop sign and speeding. A parking complaint was reported in the 200 block of S. Ash St. A citizen reported finding an unknown disposable phone in his/her backpack. Officers advised that it be disposed of.
Jan. 20 — An alarm in the 100 block of Industrial Rd. proved unfounded.
Marion
Jan. 14 — An out-of-control teenager was reported in the 700 block of E. Main St.
Jan. 15 — A motorist was warned near Fifth and Main Sts. for no brake lights.
Jan. 16 — Officers stood by at a civil matter in the 500 block of N. Freeborn St. A disturbance over the custody of a dog in the 900 block of N. Industrial Rd. was determined to be a civil matter, with no police action taken. A counterfeit $50 bill was reported being used in the 1200 block of E. Main St. A suspect is known, but it is unknown whether charges will be filed.
Jan. 17 — A motorist was warned for no turn signal. A reckless driver reportedly heading into Marion was located near St. Luke Hospital and determined to be having health problems. The driver was taken to St. Luke. An out-of-control teenager in the 1400 block of E. Lawrence was picked up by a parent. A teenager reportedly running away from home was located and returned home to the 400 block of S. Coble St.
Jan. 18 — A motorist was warned in the 200 block of S. Third St. for a brake light out. A loud boom reported in the 600 block of Walnut St. proved unfounded.
Jan. 19 — A motorist was warned in the 200 block of E. Main St. for speeding. A motorist received citations in the 1100 block of E. Main St. for driving with a suspended license and expired registration. A motorist was warned near Third and Main Sts. for a taillight out.
Peabody
Jan. 14 — A citizen reported pit bull attacks in the 800 block of Elm and 500 block N. Walnut Sts., but would not cooperate with the investigation.
Jan. 15 — An ongoing case of aggravated domestic battery, and criminal property damage was filed.
Jan. 17 — A horse was removed from the 800 block of Prairie Lawn Rd. on suspicion of animal cruelty. A noise complaint was reported for habitual dog barking in the 500 block of N. Vine St.
Jan. 18 — An attempted burglary was reported, but no address was given.
Jan. 19 — An out-of-control teenager was reported in the 400 block of N. Vine St.
