Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded.
Hillsboro
March 4 — A motorist received assistance in the 300 block of S. Ash St. with a vehicle stuck in a snow bank.
March 5 — A welfare check was done in Industrial Park and everything was OK. A commercial alarm was reported in the 300 block of N. Ash St. and everything was OK.
March 6 — An individual found drug paraphernalia and turned it over to law enforcement.
March 7 — An individual was reported for violating a restraining order.
March 9 — A domestic disturbance in the 200 block of S. Ash St. was determined to be verbal only.
Marion
March 4 — A dog tearing up trash near Moore and 4th Sts. was unable to be found. A motorist was given a warning in the 100 block of S. Roosevelt St. for no turn signal.
March 5 — A vehicle seen by a park employee sliding off a driveway and into a bench at Central Park was unable to be found. No damage was done to the bench. A motorist was warned near Walnut and Main Sts. for speeding. A motorist stopped for a reportedly stolen license plate was determined to be the owner.
March 6 — A civil standby was done in the 500 block of N. Freeborn St.
March 7 — An individual reported for a possible gas skip in the 1200 block of E. Main St. returned to pay for gas. An individual was assisted getting her wheelchair on the ramp at her residence. A disturbance in the 1000 block of E. Main St. was diffused.
March 8 — A pair of individuals passing through the roundabout at US-56 and US-77 were transported to their destination. A motorist received a citation near 3rd and Main Sts. for speeding and no proof of liability insurance.
March 9 — A welfare check was done in the 800 block of Weldon St., individual was not home. A welfare check was done in the 600 block of Sherman St. and everything was OK. A noise complaint was reported for a barking dog in the 300 block of N. Lincoln St., but the owner could not be found.
March 10 — A commercial alarm in the 1200 block of E. Main St. was determined to be OK. A welfare check was done for three dogs and everything was OK. An unoccupied residence was checked and everything was OK.
Peabody
March 6 — A motorist was observed driving with a revoked license, but no vehicle stop was made.
March 7 — A burglary was reported in the 100 block of N. Walnut St. Police are still looking for a suspect. A hit-and-run accident was reported in 200 block of N. Pollock St. A welfare check was done and everything was OK.
March 9 — A welfare check was done and everything was OK. A report of a minor in possession of a handgun proved false.
