Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded.
Hillsboro
June16 – A dog bite complaint was investigated in the 200 block of E. Grand Ave., and the dog owner received a citation for not having registration. A parking complaint was reported in the 400 block of E. Grand Ave., and a dog complaint was reported in the 300 block of N. Washington St.
June 17 – A 911 disconnect was reported at the Family Aquatic Center, and an animal trap was set for a skunk in the area of Tabor College.
June18 – A report was called in for a person out of control in the 300 block of N. Ash St., but the resident did not want them removed. A commercial alarm was investigated in the 300 block of N. Ash St.
June 19 – A motorist received assistance contacting a family member after his vehicle broke down at Kanza Rd. and US-56, and the post office reported someone using their trash dumpster without permission. Dog complaints were reported in the 200 block of E. C St. and the 100 block of S. Date St.
June 20 – An individual reported multiple online scam attempts, and a noise complaint was reported in the 200 block of S. Date St. A child welfare concern was investigated in Memorial Park.
June 21 – A welfare check was conducted in the 200 block of Eisenhower St., and an individual reported harassment by text. A family of five skunks was trapped and removed from the 200 block of Eisenhower St. A welfare check was conducted in the 700 block of W. Grand Ave., and a motorist received assistance with directions on US-56.
June 22 – A commercial alarm was investigated in the 500 block of E. D St., and a dog complaint was reported in the 200 block of S. Jefferson St. A resident burning debris in his/her backyard was reported, and a welfare check was conducted in the 300 block of S. Washington St.
Marion
June18 – An individual sleeping in the parking lot behind the former Pizza Hut was given water and $5 by an officer and was taken to the county line on US-56. An individual reported at a vacant residence in the 300 block of Elm St. was removed at the owner’s request, but a report of stolen items proved unfounded. A motorist received citations for no registration and no liability insurance on US-256, and a loose dog was reported in the 200 block of S. Freeborn St. A bicycle found in the 400 block of N. Coble St. was returned to its owner.
June 19 – A motorist was warned for no brake lights in the 300 block of W. Main St. A vehicle reported missing in the 400 block of N. 2nd St. was found in the same parking lot, but on the opposite side of where it was reportedly parked. A motorist was warned for a headlight out near Main and Walnut Sts., officers contacted a vehicle owner who left the hatch of a van open in the 100 block of N. 4th St.
June 20 – A disabled vehicle was tagged with a 48-hour tow sticker in the 200 block of Grant St., but the owner was not home. A motorist received a citation for speeding 35 mph in a 20 mph zone near Fifth and Main Sts, and a motorist was warned for a J-turn in the 300 block of E. Main St.
June 21 – A disabled vehicle was tagged with a 48-hour tow sticker near Commercial and Industrial Rds., and a civil matter was investigated in the 400 block of S. Fourth St.
June 22 – Officers removed limbs from the 200 block of N. Cedar St, and a motorist was warned for a headlight out near Cedar and Lawrence Sts.
June 23 – A motorist was warned for a headlight out in the 700 block of E. Main St.
