Activity reports

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded.

Hillsboro

Aug. 18 – A property complaint was investigated in the 300 block of W. B St., and a physical confrontation was investigated in the 300 block of N. Ash St.

Aug. 19 – A civil standby was done in the 400 block of S. Main St., and a welfare check was done in the 300 block of N. Adams St.

Aug. 20 – A motorist received assistance in the 100 block of W. Grand Ave., a trespassing complaint was investigated in the 100 block of S. Ash St., and a person was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

Aug. 21 – Officers set alternate traffic routes because of road construction. A parking complaint was reported in the 400 block of S. Adams St.

Thursday – A disorderly person was reported in the 200 block of N. Washington St. Suspicious activity was investigated at Western Heights Cir.

Friday – A scam was reported. A traffic hazard was reported in the 300 block of S. Birch St., and suspicious activity was investigated in the 300 block of N. Ash St.

Saturday – A traffic complaint was reported at D and Ash Sts. Suspicious activity was investigated in the 200 block of S. Lincoln St.

Sunday – A trespassing complaint was investigated in the 300 block of N. Ash St. A city code violation was reported at 2nd and Ash Sts.

Marion

Aug. 19 – A debit card was returned to its owner. Officers checked on an elementary school student who crashed her bicycle. Motorists were warned for speeding in the 100 block of Eisenhower and for a headlight out on US-56 near Cedar St. A motorist received a citation for speeding on US-56 near Cedar St.

Aug. 20 – A motorist warned for a tail light out in the 300 block of N. Cedar St. also was arrested on an outstanding warrant. A disturbance in the 300 block of E. Main St. remains under investigation. A motorist was warned for no brake light in the 1000 block of E. Main St.

Aug. 21 – A motorist was warned for failing to yield to a pedestrian near the school zones. Officers contacted city crews for a water leak in the 100 block of S. 3rd St. A disturbance was reported in the 100 block of Billings St. A loose dog picked up in the 1500 block of Denver St. was returned to its owner. Individuals were warned for burning lumber and branches in the 200 block of S. 1st St., and for mowing grass into the road in the 200 block of S. Lincoln St. A motorist was warned for a child without a seatbelt.

Thursday – A motorist received a citation for left wheels to the curb in the 400 block of S. Roosevelt St. A person was warned for mowing grass into the road in the 400 block of Locust St.

Friday – A cell phone was returned to its owner. Motorists were warned for speeding and other traffic violations. A motorist was arrested on US-56 for three outstanding warrants from Dickinson County. A report of battery was investigated in the 300 block of S. Lincoln St., but no action was taken. A motorist received a citation for driving against restrictions and a warning for no tag light on US-56.

Saturday – Motorists were warned for speeding near 3rd and Main Sts., and for no tag light near Main St. and Ashley Dr. Suspicious activity was investigated in the 100 block of S. 1st St.

Sunday – A motorist was warned for parking in a no-parking zone in the 300 block of S. Roosevelt St.

Peabody

Thursday – A individual was warned to trim vegetation in the 300 block N. Maple St.
