Activity reports
Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded.
Hillsboro
Aug. 31 – A 911 disconnect was reported in the 200 block of S. Cedar St., and a suspicious person was investigated in the 200 block of S. Main St.
Sept. 1 – A trespassing complaint was investigated in the 400 block of S. Main St., suspicious activity was investigated in the 200 block of S. Wilson St., and a suspicious person was reported in the 400 block of N. Ash St.
Sept. 2 – A potentially delusional person was picked up in the 500 block of N. Ash St. and taken to Hillsboro Community Hospital for evaluation.
Sept. 3 – Signs were removed after being illegally posted at US-56 and Orchard St., an out-of-control teenager was taken into protective custody in the 300 block of N. Ash St., and a dog bite complaint was reported in the 500 block of E. Grand Ave.
Sept. 4 – Suspicious activity was investigated at Western Heights Cir.
Thursday – Parking complaints were reported in the 300 and 400 blocks of S. Birch St. A runaway teenager was picked up in the 100 block of S. Ash St., and suspicious activity was investigated downtown.
Friday – A dog complaint was reported in the 200 block of N. Cedar St., and a child custody case was investigated, but determined to be a civil matter.
Saturday – A camper hookup was provided at Memorial Park.
Sunday – A person received assistance with loose cattle on Jade Rd.
Marion
Sept. 2 – A loose dog reported in the 200 block of N. Cedar St., and a person walking through yards near Cedar and Kellison Sts. couldn’t be found. A motorist was warned for a tail light out on US-56.
Sept. 3 – A motorist was warned for parking in a no parking zone, and a person was warned for burning without proper containment, both in the 400 block of S. Roosevelt St. Motorists were warned for speeding in the 1000 block of N. Cedar St., for speeding and no seatbelt in the 100 block of Eisenhower, and for a J-turn in the 400 block of E. Main St. Officers met with a person about a child custody case, and a motorist received a citation on US-56 for speeding.
Sept. 4 – A suspicious vehicle was reported near Weldon and Freeborn Sts., a loose dog in the 400 block of S. Lincoln was returned to its owner, and a motorist was warned for no trailer lights in the 700 block of N. Roosevelt St.
Thursday – Suspicious activity was reported in the 200 block of Garfield St., and officers met with a person about a civil matter. Motorists were warned for failing to stop at a stop sign on US-56, and for no tag light near US-56 and Ridge Rd.
Friday – Officers met with a person walking on Main St. at 1 a.m., and worked a non-injury accident near 3rd and Main Sts. A possible harassment incident was investigated in the 1000 block of E. Main St. Motorists were warned for a headlight out near 4th and Main Sts., and twice on US-56 for no tag lights.
Saturday – A motorist received a citation for speeding on US-56 near Cedar St. Officers met with a person who had questions about idling lawn mowers. A person was warned for having loose dogs, and two motorists were warned for no tag light on US-56. Suspicious activity was reported near Roosevelt and Weldon Sts., and a motorist was warned for no taillights near Main and Thorp Sts.
Sunday – A suspicious person was investigated in the 100 block of Arbor St., and was arrested on an active warrant.
