Feb. 8: Police took two traffic complaints and responded to a child custody dispute in the 400 block of N. Ash St.

Feb. 9: A dog complaint was filed in the 300 block of N. Lincoln St.

Feb. 10: Police responded to non-injury accident in the 500 block of S. Main St.

Feb. 11: There was a report of a suspicious person downtown and a dog complaint in the 300 block of S. Ash St.

Thursday: Officers returned stolen property to its owner, fingerprinted a person for employment, and took a report of a suspicious person behind city hall.

Friday: Police issued a city curfew ticket and stopped several vehicles for various violations.

Saturday: There was a parking complaint in the 200 block of W. Third St. Police took a report of a suspicious vehicle.


Marion police did not provide the newspaper with its regular biweekly report detailing its police activity.


Feb. 10: Police opened an investigation into health and safety violations at 107 W. 6th St. and 201 E. 9th St. The investigations continue. Police took a vandalism report and opened an investigation into the incident at Peabody-Burns Elementary School.

Feb. 11: Officers responded to a call about an out-of-control male at Westview Manor. The resident has since left the facility.

Thursday: Police completed an information report from a civil matter investigated on Jan. 23.

Friday: Patrick Peters, Manhattan, was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license, no tag, and no liability insurance. He was taken to Marion County Jail.
