Incident reports


May 25: A motorist was stopped for speeding, and a suspicious person was investigated in the 300 block of N. Washington.

May 26: A hit-and-run accident was investigated at Wal-Mart.

May 27: Officers took a complaint of a radio-controlled drone flying downtown, met with parents about children using electric scooters on the street, investigated suspicious activity in the 300 block of S. Date St., ticketed motorists for speeding and driving with a suspended license, and took a dog complaint.

Thursday: Officers stopped motorists for failing to wear a seatbelt and failing to stay in their lane. A noise complaint in the 200 block of S. Birch St. was investigated.

Friday: A fight was investigated in the 400 block of S. Ash St. A sick cat was captured.

Sunday: Officers searched a Main St. building that had been left unlocked.


May 18: Police took a report of trespassing and harassment and a report of criminal damage at Peabody Post Office.

May 21: Police took a burglary complaint at Peabody-Burns Elementary School. A lock was damaged, but nothing was stolen. Officers investigated an inoperable vehicle on East Division St.

May 22: Police investigated a report of theft, mistreatment of a dependent adult, rape, sodomy, Medicare and Medicaid fraud, and mail theft at Westview Manor, but determined the charges were unfounded.

May 24: Officers picked up a child’s abandoned bicycle; its owner may identify and claim it at the department. Matthew Kangas, Peabody, was charged with driving under the influence and driving with an expired license.

Thursday: Keith Tincher, Peabody, was arrested on a Marion County warrant.

Friday: A dog was picked up and turned over to animal control.

Saturday: Police investigated a case of domestic battery. Charges are expected.

Sunday: Jessica Antonio, Peabody, was charged with domestic battery. Officers took a report of criminal damage. Someone left a large bass in
