April 16 — A non-injury accident in the 100 block of S. Birch St. was investigated.

April 17 — A traffic complaint in the 100 block of W. Grand St. and a report of an abandoned vehicle at the new hospital were investigated.

April 18 — A report of suspicious activity at Main and 1st Sts. was investigated.

April 19 — A child-custody dispute, traffic complaint involving the operation of an unauthorized vehicle, and harassment complaint in the 400 block of S. Jefferson St. were investigated.

Thursday — A minor accident in the 200 block of S. Date St. for which no report was needed was investigated. A welfare check was performed in the 600 block of S. Ash St. Officers assisted the Sheriff’s department in locating a wanted person.

Friday — A complaint of a dumpster in the roadway in the 300 block of N. Jefferson St., report of check fraud, possible Internet scam, attempted phone scam, and 911 disconnect at Tabor College were investigated. A trespass order was granted to a business customer in the 900 block of E. D St. A security standby was performed at Tabor College while a student was dismissed from campus.

Saturday — Multiple parking complaints at Tabor College, an unresponsive person in a vehicle at the Hillsboro Aquatic Center parking lot, and domestic disturbance in the 400 block of E. 1st St. were investigated.

April 17 — The owner of a dog running free in the 300 block of S. 3rd St. was contacted to retrieve the animal. A disturbance in the 200 block of S. Cedar St. was investigated.

April 18 — A report of a dog running free in the 400 block of S. 4th St. was investigated; officers were unable to locate the animal. A report of someone screaming was investigated; the source of the scream was located. A dog complaint in the 200 block of S. Lincoln was investigated.

April 19 — A report of barking dogs in the 200 block of S. Roosevelt St. was investigated.

Thursday — A suspicious vehicle in the 100 block of S. 2nd St. was investigated. Sheriff’s officers were assisted with the location of the suspect in a theft case in the 1500 block of Victory Ln.

Friday — A non-injury accident in the 300 block of Elm St. was investigated. Police canine Legion and officer Mike Stone assisted the sheriff’s department with a traffic stop that ended in the arrest of three people.

Saturday — Two speeding citations were issued and a disturbance in the 400 block of Grant St. was investigated.

Sunday — A dog bite involving the victim’s family dog was investigated. A disturbance in the 300 block of S. Lincoln St. was investigated. A welfare check was performed in the 100 block of S. Roosevelt St. leading to the discovery of a deceased person whose family requested that no further information be provided.

April 18 — A dog bite involving two pit bulls at 403 N. Walnut St. was investigated.

April 19 — A complaint of a violation of a protection from abuse order within city limits was investigated. A report of a Westview Nursing Home resident, who reportedly wanted to leave but was not allowed to leave, was investigated.

Thursday — Bill Rose, 36, Halstead, was arrested on a municipal court warrant at 910 N. Olive St. A no-trespassing complaint was taken at the Coneburge Inn.
