Police respond to fights

Law enforcement responded to numerous reports of physical altercations.

Oct. 5: Officers assisted with a block party, worked on reports, and conducted vehicle maintenance. Marion County Sheriff’s Department received assistance with an injury accident.

Oct. 6: School zones were patrolled. Traffic stops were conducted. Officers worked on reports. A non-injury accident was investigated. A theft was reported. Follow-up investigations were conducted. Response was given to an animal complaint.

Oct. 7: School zones were patrolled. EMS received assistance with a call. Identification cards were provided to Peabody. Criminal damage to property was reported. Follow-up investigations were conducted. Officers worked on reports.

Oct. 8: School zones were patrolled. Follow-up investigations were conducted. EMS received assistance with a call. Officers attended court hearings, conducted vehicle identification number inspections, and attended meeting. Traffic stops were conducted. Possible underage drinking was reported.

Oct. 9: Officers assisted with Walk Your Child to School day. VIN inspections were provided. An outside agency received assistance with an investigation. A dog was transported to Animal Health Center of Marion County. Officers worked on reports. The sheriff’s department received assistance at the jail. A civil standby was provided. Response was given to a domestic dispute. Street lights were checked. An open business door was found. Peabody Police Department received assistance with a burglary in-progress. An officer met with a concerned citizen.

Oct. 10: School zones were patrolled. A concerned citizen met with an officer. A driving complaint was checked. Officers worked on reports and met with Marion County attorney. Follow-up investigations and traffic stops were conducted. VIN inspections were provided. A noise complaint was filed. EMS received assistance with a call. Response was given to a fire near Marion Historical Museum.

Oct. 11: Three bicycles were recovered at Marion High School. Radar was run on Main Street. Traffic stops and VIN inspections were conducted. A telephone harassment complaint was filed. A welfare check was made. Officers worked on reports.

Oct. 12: A bicycle was found at the football field. Officers participated in firearms training and worked on reports. Response was given to a 911 hang-up. Follow-up investigations were conducted.

Oct. 13: School zones were patrolled. Officers worked on reports and attended training. Response was given to a report of a child out-of-control. A concerned citizen met with an officer. A burglary was reported. Response was given to a possible fight.

Oct. 14: School zones were patrolled. Officers worked on reports and attended training. Community corrections officers received assistance with home visits. Follow-up investigations were conducted. Traffic stops were made.

Oct. 15: School zones were patrolled. A dog was transported to Animal Health Center of Marion County. VIN inspections were conducted. An attempt was made to catch at dog running at-large. Officers worked on reports and attended training. An open business door was located. Traffic stops were made. Follow-up investigations were conducted.

Oct. 16: School zones were patrolled. A non-injury accident was investigated. Followup investigations were conducted. An officer met with a concerned business owner and worked on reports. Traffic stops were made.

Oct. 17: Officers worked on reports. VIN inspections were conducted. An officer met with the county attorney regarding cases. Follow-up investigations were conducted. Traffic stops were made. Response was given to a fight.

Oct. 18: Supervision was provided to community service workers. Criminal damage to property was reported. Vehicle maintenance was conducted. Response was given to a 911 hang-up. A possible fight was reported. Follow-up investigations were conducted. VIN inspections were provided and officers worked on reports.

Officers issued 14 warnings and two notices to appear.
