2 suspects arrested on multiple charges

In the early morning hours on Sunday, Peabody police officers responded to a report of burglary and theft at a residence at 711 N. Chestnut St. in Peabody. The investigating officers took a report of several items missing from the residence, including a bag of frozen meatballs.
During the course of the investigation, a second call came in from the Coneburg Inn with information about another burglary and theft. The missing items included a bag of frozen chicken gizzards, a bag of frozen hash browns, and a bag of frozen mozzarella cheese sticks.
Several hours later, police received information from the public that a suspect matching the description of the thief had been seen in the general area of northwest Peabody. With the help of officers from the Marion County Sheriff’s Department, the suspect was pursued on foot.
The suspect was apprehended and a short time later a second suspect was found at a nearby residence and he also was apprehended. Both were booked into Marion County Jail.
The first suspect arrested was Lucas Tullis, of El Dorado. Tullis was charged with burglary and theft, possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to sell or distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia, fleeing and eluding law enforcement, and possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell or distribute.
The second suspect arrested was Brice Wright, also of El Dorado. Wright was charged with burglary and theft.
“All of the items taken from residence on Chestnut were recovered,” Peabody Police Chief Bruce Burke said. “The case is solved. The theft case at the Coneburg Inn is also solved and charges in that incident will be forthcoming.
“While we don’t usually encourage private citizens to get involved in situations like these because of the potential for danger, we certainly do appreciate the members of the public who turned in helpful information in a timely fashion so the information could be acted upon,” he added. “The assistance from the Marion County Sheriff’s Department also helped us cover and search the area quickly and make the arrests. We appreciate their help.”
