An article June 24 about the rising number of rabies cases in the county stated that there is no rabies vaccine for cattle.

Veterinarian Lesha Koch of Hillsboro Animal Clinic said this week that there is, in fact, a vaccine. Its usage, however, is limited.

“There is a vaccine for cattle,” Koch said, “but we do not use it in commercial herds. We use it for special cases or show cattle.”
