Former Goessel resident Rita Louise Sperry, 69, of Newton died Oct.20 in Newton.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Tabor Mennonite Church, Newton.  

She was born Aug. 4, 1945, to Nick and Susan (Unruh) Schmidt at Goessel.  

A brother, Otto Nick Schmidt, sister-in-law, Nancy Schmidt and an infant daughter, Patrice Ann Dick, preceded her.

Survivors include her son, John Sperry and daughter, Ann Sperry, both of rural Newton; sisters, Julia (Willard) Regier of Moundridge, Susan Duerksen of Goessel, DeLome Schmidt of Newton.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at Tabor Mennonite Church, Newton.
