Roger Vogts

Roger E. Vogts, 65, Moundridge, died Aug. 8, 2008.

Born Feb. 4, 1943, at Goessel, he was the son of Herman Vogts and Frieda (Flickner) Zissman.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Marion and LeRoy Vogts.

Survivors include two sons, Brandon Vogts and Brian Vogts, both of Moundridge; two stepsons, Dwight Helms of Houston, Texas, and Duane Helms of Hesston; three brothers, Brad Vogts and Sherwin Niehage, both of McPherson and Ed Vogts of Moundridge; three sisters, Valeta Smith of Hoquiam, Wash., Rosalyn Cornell of Pittsburg, and Dema Woten of Blythe, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday morning at the First Mennonite Church of Christian, Moundridge. Burial was in West Zion Cemetery, Moundridge.

A memorial fund has been established with the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks.
