Norman and Dot Ensz celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Sept. 1 with an open house at the Methodist Church fellowship hall in Hillsboro. They married on Sept. 1, 1952. Norman retired from Greeley Gas Co. in 1990, and Dot retired from Salem Hospital in laundry in 1998.

Norman and Dot Ensz attended a Janzen family reunion Sept. 2 at the home of Terry and Joni Ens in Wichita. Guests included Leonard and JoAnn Janzen of Yuma, Ariz., Robert and Irma (Janzen) Meisinger) of Marion, David Meisinger of Wichita, Mike and Carolyn and Andrew Janzen of Fort Worth, Texas, Harold and Debbie (Janzen) Pulcher of Dallas, Texas, Stacie Ens of Wichita, Randy Ensz of Hillsboro, and Stacie Ensz of Wichita.

Karen Haug of Jetmore spent the weekend of Sept. 8 with her mother, Marcella Mohn. On Sept. 8, Karen and Gordon and Vicky Mohn attended Macy Fadenrecht and Kala Baun’s wedding in Fairview, Okla.

Leonard and Hazen Hein were the hosts of a birthday dinner for family members on Sept. 9. Family members present were Tony and Brandi Hein, Henry, Grace, and Oliver of Hillsboro, Monica Hein and Van of Kansas City, and Andrew Hein and Sarah and family of Tampa.

Tim and Donna Diener were the hosts of an all-church family get-together with music by the Cottonwood River Band from Durham Baptist Church. They served ice cream, cake, and refreshments Sept. 9 at their home.

Tim and Donna Diener, Marissa Diener of Lawrence, and Kent, Emily, and Jack Owen of Hesston visited Arlene Pankratz Friday evening. Saturday afternoon visitors were Herb and Trudy Pankratz of Abilene and Andrew Pankratz of Emporia.

Saturday evening supper guests of Doug and Coleen Weinbrenner were Brett and Candace Weinbrenner, Audrey and Bret Ford of Olathe, Eric and Danielle and Baylen of Hillsboro, Tyler, Cheri, and Keeley of Inman, Pat and Charlie Ford of Newton, Richard and Kathy Dirks of Hillsboro, and Don and Joyce Weinbrenner of Lehigh.

Mike and Debbie Goossen of Beatrice, Neb., were Saturday visitors at Willis Penner’s.

The Farmerettes EHU met Friday at the home of Willis and Ruth Ann Penner.

Saturday visitors of Marcella Mohn were Jeremy and Kristy and girls from Olathe, Gordon and Vicky Mohn of McPherson, and Karen Haug of Jetmore.

Weekend visitors of Mary Seibel were Jean and Sue Seibel of Illinois and Matt and Bacca Sipe and daughter of Missouri.

Don and Connie Isaac and other family had breakfast Saturday in Durham to celebrate birthdays.
