A teenage girl from Hillsboro was located in Peabody on Dec. 15 after running away with a 20-year-old man who was allegedly already on probation.
Police Chief Dan Kinning said it wasn’t the first time the girl fled from home. This time she had help.
“The guy she was with isn’t a good influence,” Kinning said. “Now he’s also got charges pending for contributing to the misconduct of a child for assisting her in the runaway.”
Police promptly found the girl by using the phone number of the cellphone she used to call her parents.
As Hillsboro Police contacted Peabody police with their lead, a Peabody man, who owned the phone that matched the number in question, came into the Peabody station to report the duo had holed-up at his house. Police later transported the teen to juvenile intake.
