Rusty George Peavy, 54, Canton, died Sept. 9, 2008, at Salem Home, Hillsboro.

Born July 21, 1954, at Warner Robbins, Ga., he was the son of George Russell Peavy and Jean (Conner) Arnold.

On March 26, 1983, he married Karen McElwee at Bossier City, La.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Karen of Canton; two sons, Chase and Cody Peavy, both of Canton; and sister, Cheryl Wilson of Georgia.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday morning at McPherson Free Methodist Church with the Rev. Deborah Somerville officiating. A private family burial was held.

The Chase and Cody Peavy College Fund has been established in care of Jost Funeral Home or McPherson Credit Union.
