Ruth Ebel

Ruth Ebel, 96, of Hillsboro, died April 13, 2009, at Sweet Life of Shawnee, Shawnee.

Born April 27, 1912, in Hope, she was the daughter of Fredrick and Fanny (Utech) Gruber.

She was a homemaker and nurse’s aide at Salem.

On July 6, 1943, she married Arnold Ebel at Wichita. Her husband and two sisters, Marie Schlesener and Rosalie Schimming, preceded her in death.

Survivors include a son, Wayne Ebel of Wichita; a daughter, Cheryl Gleissner of Lenexa; a brother, Melvin Gruber of Hope; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services were Friday morning at Zion Lutheran Church of Hillsboro with the Reverent Brett Huebner officiating.

Burial was at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Hillsboro.

Memorial funds have been established with the church of the Alzheimer’s Association.
