Ruth Viets

MARION — Viets, Ruth Elizabeth Paulin, 91, passed away May 4, 2014, at St. Luke Living Center in Marion, Kansas. Ruth was born in Wichita, Kansas, Nov. 14, 1922, the daughter of Milo and Marie (Wight) Paulin.

After graduating from El Dorado High School and Friends University, she worked diligently to advance Christian education throughout Kansas and beyond. Ruth took the greatest pride in her role as wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, the Rev. Donald Viets; and her brother, Richard Paulin.

She is survived by her daughter, Dona and her husband, Rick Gibson, of Wichita; a brother, John and his wife, Charmaine Paulin, of Winfield; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many good friends throughout the world.

The viewing will be 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday at Zeiner Funeral Home in Marion. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 9, 2014, at Eastmoor United Methodist Church in Marion. Interment will be in the Highland Cemetery, Wichita, at 3 p.m.
