Salt mine tour scheduled

Hillsboro first through sixth graders will be taking a field trip to the Hutchinson salt mines on Feb. 22, sponsored by Hillsboro Recreation Commission. The group will leave for Hutchinson in the morning, take lunch at the salt mines, and visit Tabor Lanes in the afternoon. There is a $30 fee, and signups will be available until Feb. 15.

Fees for all summer baseball and softball categories in Hillsboro have been raised $10 to balance expenses. Cottonwood Valley League baseball and softball are now $65, and signups begin in March. Blastball, T-ball, and pitch machine will be $25, and registration opens in April.

The rec commission held elections Jan. 14, choosing Clint Corby as president. His cabinet includes Karol Hunt as vice president, and Dawn Helmer as secretary. David Ediger was appointed as a new board member.
